Residents across North and East Herts can now spot “Sweep Caroline” the street sweeper, “Dame Foodie Dench” the food waste collection truck, and “Binderella” the Refuse Collection Vehicle out on their rounds – just a few of the winning names chosen for the area’s waste collection fleet.
Over the summer, residents were invited to submit name ideas for the Shared Waste Service’s vehicles, and the response was huge. From puns to pop culture references, the chosen names reflect the community’s wit and creativity, bringing some fun to the essential services of recycling and waste management.
The final names listed below were selected by a panel including councillors, members of the waste team and crews from Veolia that use the vehicles - congratulations to those with winning entries!
